Two Criminal Cases Have Been Initiated on the Facts of Shelling of the Territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics by the Military Personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to record evidence of the crimes of the Kiev regime against the civilian population of Donbass.

According to the investigation, the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue massive shelling of civilian infrastructure facilities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

So, on February 24, 2022, as a result of massive shelling with large-caliber artillery and multiple rocket launchers in the cities of Pervomaisk, Kirovsk, Zolote-5 and Maryevka of the Lugansk People’s Republic, 13 residential buildings were damaged, gas pipelines were damaged in 6 houses.

In the cities of Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya and Dokuchaevsk of the Donetsk People’s Republic, four civilians were injured, one woman died, 45 residential buildings, an electrical workshop, outbuildings, an emergency warehouse and a high-voltage power line, as well as a heating main and two boiler houses were damaged, as a result of which 68 residential households were left without heating. The buildings of secondary school No. 106 and the City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1 were shelled.

In addition, on February 25, 2022, in the morning, as a result of a direct hit by an artillery shell on the building of secondary school No. 50 in Gorlovka, the Donetsk People’s Republic, a geography teacher and deputy head teacher were killed, another school worker was injured; and at the same time, the building of a city specialized orphanage was damaged in Donetsk.

At about 11 a.m. on February 25, 2022, a direct hit by a shell on a residential building at Shevchenko per., Kirovsk, killed two civilians.

Two criminal cases have been initiated on these facts under Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use in an armed conflict of means and methods prohibited by an international treaty of the Russian Federation).

Such crimes have no statute of limitations, and sooner or later the evidence collected by the Investigative Committee will be the subject of consideration by the courts, before which those who give and follow illegal orders will appear.
