Investigators of the IC of Russia Continue to Record Crimes Committed by Ukrainian Military Against Civilians

On February 24 and 25, 2022, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, conducting military operations in the south-east of Ukraine, fired shells at the Russian territory, the consequences were recorded near the village of Shirochanka in the town of Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai and 10 km from the town of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Krasnodar Krai.

The investigators of the IC of Russia who arrived at the scene found craters with a diameter of 3 and 4 meters which resulted from shell hits, as well as many metal fragments, the spread of which posed a real danger to human life and health.

Also, on February 24, 2022, servicemen  of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used the territory of the south-east of Ukraine to fire at the Russian civilian cargo ship SGV Flot, which was en route to the seaport of Rostov-on-Don through the Sea of Azov. As a result of the incident, the ore and ore carrier sustained damage to the aft part, which caused the steering to fail. One crew member was injured.

Following these facts, the investigators of the main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia initiated criminal cases on the grounds of possible crimes under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs A, D, G of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more persons).

On February 26, 2022, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while on Ukrainian territory, fired at a military unit located near the village of Dolzhanskaya, Yeisky District, Krasnodar Krai, thereby encroaching on the lives of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and also destroying two mobile radar stations.
As a result of the criminal actions, three servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation sustained injuries of varying severity, major damage was caused to the military property of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Following this incident, the investigators of the MID of the IC of Russia initiated criminal cases on possible crimes under Article 317 of the Criminal Code (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer), Part 2 of Article 346 of the Criminal Code (intentional destruction or damage to military property, which entailed grave consequences).

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues its work aimed at fixing and thoroughly investigating every fact of criminal actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
