Investigation Into Murder of Little Nastya Muravyova in Tyumen Completed

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia completed investigation into charges of Vitaly Berzhnoy with committing crimes under Part 2, Article 126, Part 4, Article 131, Part 4, Article 132, Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of of the Russian Federation (abduction; rape; sexual assault; murder).

According to investigators, on 30 June 2021, Berezhnoy met a little girl Nastya Muravyova who he did not know on the ground floor of the apartment building in Sudostroiteley Street, Tyumen. He lured her into his rented apartment in the same building where he killed her.

Berezhnoy packaged airtight and kept the body of the missing girl in his apartment. On 17 August 2021, he moved the body to a hard-to-reach place on the shore of Lake Obrochnoye in order to hide the crime.

As part of the criminal case, law enforcers conducted an exhaustive amount of investigative activities, collected sufficient evidence of Berezhnoy’s involvement in the crime he was charged with. They found out that he had been under the influence of drugs on the day of the crime.

The charged offender filed a request to have his case heard by the jury.

The criminal case against Berezhnoy with the bill of indictment was submitted for trial.
