Chairman of the IC of Russia Gives a Number of Instructions to Record New Shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine Against the Civilian Population in Donbass

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed the investigators of the Central Office to continue work on recording and documenting evidence of new cases of injuries and deaths of civilians in the Donetsk People’s Republic as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the media, today, as a result of the criminal actions of the Ukrainian military, a civilian born in 1951 was injured during the shelling of Gorlovka. Three people were killed and seven were injured as a result of the shelling of a hostel in this city. Two children suffered shrapnel wounds in Kirovsky Raion of Donetsk, a social worker was killed as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, two people born in 1984 and 1971 were injured in Dokuchaevsk, where targeted shelling was also carried out.

The head of the IC pointed out the need to ensure the prompt exchange of information through the established channels of interaction with the law enforcement agencies of the DPR on the said facts of the criminal activities of Ukrainian military personnel, and ensure their documentation and investigation.

In addition, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to investigate criminal cases against a number of former officials of Ukraine. In particular, an investigation is underway against A. Turchinov, who continues to make public statements calling for the commission of crimes against citizens of the Russian Federation. The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed the investigators to expedite the process of collecting evidence and ensuring the necessary legal assessment.
