Chairman of the IC of Russia Gives a Number of Instructions on Recording and Investigating the Shelling of Donbass by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, gave a number of instructions to record and investigate new facts of shelling of the civilian population of Donbass by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to media reports as of March 2, in Kirovsky Raion of Donetsk, two teenagers received shrapnel wounds during shelling by the Ukrainian military and were hospitalized in healthcare institutions of the republic for medical assistance. 

Also on March 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the Donetsk People’s Republic with 120-millimeter mortars, infantry fighting vehicles and grenade launchers; as a result of the fire, two civilians were killed and two more were injured. According to media reports, a school, two kindergartens, and a sports complex building were shelled in Donetsk and the adjacent city of Makeevka.

In addition, as a result of shelling of Dokuchaevsk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one civilian was injured.

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the investigators of the Central Office to continue work on  recording and documenting evidence of new cases of injuries and deaths of civilians as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Chairman of the IC of Russia also pointed out the need for a thorough and comprehensive investigation of the criminal activities of the Ukrainian military personnel.
