The media reported about a fire that occurred tonight in the Republic of Khakassia. As a result of a fire in a detached house, a 9-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl died. Three more children were hospitalized.

Following the incident, the investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia initiated a criminal case on a possible crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (causing death by negligence to two persons). According to the investigators, a family of seven people, including five minor children, lived in the house. In the evening, the parents went to bed with their children. At night, a fire occurred in the house. According to preliminary data, the source of the fire was in the room near an electric outlet with a mobile phone charger.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. I. Bastrykin instructed Head of the MID for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia A. G. Zyubanov to submit a detailed report on the investigation progress and the established circumstances. The criminal case investigation is monitored by the Central Office of the IC of Russia.
