Head of the IC of Russia Instructs to Investigate Attack on Diplomatic Mission of Russian Federation in Dublin

Media outlets have recently published the information, stating that a truck deliberately rammed the gates of the Russian Embassy in Dublin (Ireland). At the same time, according to the diplomatic mission officials, the incident occurred in presence of Irish police officers, who stood nearby and did nothing. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. The Embassy considers this incident as a clear and gross violation of Article 22 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to organize an investigation of this incident, giving a proper legal evaluation of the attacker's actions under Article 360 of the Criminal Code (attack on persons or institutions under international protection).
