Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs to Conduct Inspection on Desecration of Monument to Soldier-Liberator in Slovakia

The media reported that on the night of March 9, 2022, in the Slovak city of Svidnik, located on the border with Ukraine, unknown persons desecrated a monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator at the memorial cemetery of Soviet Army soldiers.

The media emphasizes that more than 20 thousand Red Army soldiers died in Dukla battles for liberation of Slovakia. 9 thousand soldiers are buried at the memorial cemetery in Svidnik.

The head of the IC of Russia instructed his subordinates to conduct a procedural check on this fact, to request the necessary information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and to report on the circumstances of the incident.
