Chairman of the Investigative Committee Instructs to Investigate Shelling of Hospital in Donbass

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to initiate a criminal case on shelling a hospital in Volnovakha, as a result of which, according to media reports, at least 6 people were killed.

According to the available data, Ukrainian troops used a tank and a MLRS Grad to fire at a hospital with patients during the retreat from Volnovakha, and before that they fired at DPR fighters from grenade launchers and tanks from the hospital building and yard, using patients, including recently delivered women, as a human shield. In addition, according to the hospital staff who were at the site, the Ukrainian troops mined the healthcare facility buildings when they were leaving. According to the hospital staff and soldiers of the DPR army, at least six bodies of dead civilians were found on the square in front of the hospital after the shelling; counting is still underway, since the rubble has not been cleared yet.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed to collect and document evidence of these attacks for further thorough and comprehensive investigation of the criminal activities perpetrated by the Ukrainian servicemen.
