Chairman of the IC of Russian Instructs to Initiate Criminal Case on Desecration of Memorial to Soviet Soldiers in Slovakia

On March 3, attackers poured blue and yellow paint over the central memorial to Soviet soldiers in Bratislava. 6,845 Red Army soldiers who died in Slovakia in battles with fascists are buried in the abovementioned military memorial complex Slavin.

The actions of those who committed the illegal act are directed against the interests of Russia in the field of preserving the historical memory of the USSR efforts during the Second World War and its decisive role in the victory over fascism.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to establish all circumstances of the incident within a criminal case, as well as to request the information necessary for the investigation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
