Scientific and Practical Conference on Criminal Law Takes Place at Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee

The All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Criminal Law as Means of Managing Society,” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Yuri Vladimirovich Golik, took place in the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in absentia-praesentia form. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Vyacheslavovich Fyodorov, Acting Rector of the Moscow Academy of the IC of Russia Alexey Alexandrovich Bessonov, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Igor Mikhailovich Matskevich. The list of participants also included leading Russian scientists in the field of criminal law and criminology, representatives of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Research Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as well as employees of the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The discussion during the conference focused on topical problems of the criminal law theory, issues of law enforcement during pre-trial and judicial proceedings in a criminal case, modern criminal policy of Russia, criminal liability of legal entities, criminal liability for economic crimes, youth extremism, interaction of criminal law and criminology in the era of global change, criminal misconduct as a promising area of the modern criminal and procedural policy, and many other issues related to criminal law and criminology.

The conference participants noted the importance and relevance of the studied issues for the subsequent high-quality training of specialists mastering fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills. After the event, it is planned to publish a collection of scientific articles that will be used both in further theoretical research and in the criminal investigation practice.
