Head of the IC of Russia Instructs to Check Incident with Russian Flag in Estonia

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Estonia reported that the Russian flag was torn off from the office of the Embassy in the city of Tartu.

The Embassy of Russia also noted that such actions became possible due to the disdainful attitude of the Estonian authorities towards their obligations arising from the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, to which Russian diplomats have repeatedly drawn attention.

The unknown persons' actions may be qualified as a crime under Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of the National Flag of the Russian Federation).

In this regard, the Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to organize a pre-investigation check of this incident, requesting the necessary information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
