Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Investigators to Initiate a Criminal Case on the Fact of Desecration of a Monument to Soviet Soldiers in Greece

On March 20, attackers desecrated a monument to Soviet soldiers who had died for the freedom and independence of Greece. The monument is dedicated to Soviet soldiers and officers who had fled Nazi captivity during World War II and fought in the Greek guerilla detachments. Unknown attackers wrote the name of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion on the monument with yellow paint and depicted its symbol.

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to establish all the circumstances of the incident in the framework of a criminal case by requesting the information necessary for the investigation from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
