Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Officials to Investigate New Facts of Criminal Acts Against Civilians

A.I. Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia, in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the LPR and DPR, to collect and record evidence of crimes committed against civilians.

On March 19, 2022, Ukrainian troops shelled several settlements in the DPR. Aleksandrovka, Gorlovka, Yelenovka, Kremenets Mikhailovka, Signalnoye and Kirovsky Raion of the city of Donetsk were subjected to shelling. In addition, 15 civilians from the previously liberated DPR part of Mariupol, including a baby, were injured.

A.I. Bastrykin has instructed investigators to identify all the persons involved in this with a view to subsequently bringing them to justice as established by law.
