Employees of the IC of Russia Continue to Provide Comprehensive Support to LPR and DPR Refugees Arriving in Russian Federation

Employees of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation cannot remain indifferent to problems of people forced to leave their homes. The department officers are always ready to help the refugees staying in temporary housing throughout the country. People who got used to constantly hearing the sounds of shooting and shell explosions require not only material and legal assistance, but also emotional support and simple human empathy.

Each of the refugees survived the horrors of military strikes; they feared for themselves and their relatives because of the incessant shelling. With tears in their eyes, these people speak about what is happening in their homeland, about the fear that forced them to leave their homes. For the first time in many years, they can fall asleep in a safe place and live without fearing the coming day.

Employees of the department do everything possible to help these people adapt to the current situation: they help with basic necessities, provide legal advice, share not only sorrows, but also joys – they organize leisure activities with the youngest guests. Thus, officers and students of the Slipchenko Volgograd Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation held a charity event in support of citizens who arrived in the region from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Students of the cadet corps wearing ceremonial uniforms arrived at the temporary housing facility in the Akhtuba resort, where the audience of all ages was eager to meet them. Chorus singing studio members performed their best compositions on stage. At the end of the performance, the audience communicated with the cadet corps staff and young performers, sharing their impressions of the city, stories about their families and studies, having forgotten, albeit for a time, about the shell explosions, which used to scare them only a short time ago. At the end of the meeting, the officers and students of the educational institution handed over humanitarian aid to the refugees: food, kids' products and household items, which will certainly help the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics citizens who arrived in Volgograd Oblast.

Officers of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Krasnodar Krai gave an exciting lesson to children who arrived from the Donetsk People's Republic and stayed in All-Russian Children's Center Orlyonok. The kids came to Krasnodar Krai in early February to have a rest, but due to the situation in their homeland, they cannot return home. Representatives of the department held an educational lesson for them. It was dedicated to the work specifics of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The forensic experts showed the children some forensic equipment and told them about its capabilities; also, they revealed unique properties of handwriting and its significance in investigative activities. The audience was also interested in the topic of significant features of a person's appearance, which make it possible to make a real face sketch. The children were also shown the technique of detecting finger marks and thermal imager capabilities. On the device screen, they were able to observe the distribution of temperature that remains on objects after contact with a warmer surface, as well as how fingerprints can be revealed on sheets of paper and other surfaces when treated with a special powder. Saying goodbye, the staff of the regional investigative department handed over treats for the guests, expressed their support, and wished the kids success in their studies and good mood.

Provision of humanitarian aid remains relevant – for example, the staff of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Omsk Oblast did not remain indifferent to others' hardships and joined the all-Russian campaign MyVmeste to collect food, clothes and essentials for the affected citizens. As part of the campaign, residents of the region bring food suitable for long storage and essentials for children, women and pensioners of border territories and people evacuated to southern regions of Russia. The investigators also purchased and handed over personal hygiene products, child care products and other products with a long shelf life for those in need.

Officers of the military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Northern Fleet also took the initiative to provide similar assistance and purchased essentials and food products suitable for long storage.

The head and employees of the Bryansk Investigative Department of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation visited the temporary housing facility in Bryansk. The officers brought household supplies and food packages to the citizens, treated them to fresh buns and fruits and had a long heart-to-heart conversation.

The staff of the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation provides comprehensive support to citizens who arrived from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics and stay in temporary housing facilities, and this aid yields results. The people's souls gradually warm up, and they become able to live and work further. Sincere gratitude of adults and smiles on the faces of children deprived of the opportunity to grow up under a peaceful sky – this is the best reward that revives faith in goodness. Apart from that, ongoing targeted assistance is provided by employees of the IC of Russia in Voronezh, Samara, Kaluga and Lipetsk Oblasts, in Stavropol Krai, the Udmurt Republic, and in other regions.

Head of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Penza Oblast Dmitry Mikhailovich Matushkin, together with Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Dmitry Mikhailovich Kadenkov held a personal reception for citizens who arrived in Penza Oblast. More than 300 women with children who were forced to leave Donbass have found shelter in the Volodarsky resort in Penza. During the personal reception, the officials were asked questions regarding the documents that the refugees need to continue staying in the region, obtaining Russian citizenship, employment, receiving payments and benefits. There were a lot of questions about providing medical services, study of children in Penza Oblast schools, taking exams, entering kindergartens.

In the city of Kineshma, Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Ivanovo Oblast Valery Vasilyevich Samodaykin and investigative department staff held a meeting with refugees, during which they expressed readiness to provide maximum assistance in all emerging issues. Also, the head of the regional investigative department asked the attendees to treat the investigators conducting interrogations with understanding and explained the importance of conducting procedural actions to document Ukrainian troops' crimes. At the end of the event, the head of the investigative department gave gifts to the children.

The department staff will continue to support people in a difficult life situation, because the officer's duty is not only to thoroughly and responsibly perform their official duties to record evidence of crimes against the peace and security of mankind, but also to empathize and help those in need.
