Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin has instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to initiate a criminal case against officials of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine who made an illegal decision to prosecute the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine initiated a criminal case on “encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine” in connection with the fact that the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation provided information support for the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The Head of the IC of Russia instructed the MID of the IC of Russia to initiate a criminal case on a possible crime under Article 299 of the Russian Criminal Code (bringing an obviously innocent person to criminal responsibility or illegal initiation of a criminal case) and to identify specific officials who made the illegal decision to hold the Russian citizen criminally liable.
