Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs to Give Legal Evaluation to Actions of Female Mercenary from Netherlands

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has instructed the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to give a legal evaluation to the criminal actions of Joyce Koster from the Netherlands within the criminal case on mercenary activity. The woman will be charged in absentia in accordance with the established procedure.

According to the available information, 40-year-old Joyce Koster, who arrived from the Netherlands, committed crimes against Russian-speaking citizens in Ukraine for financial gain. A mother of three children, a combatant in Kosovo, she voluntarily and intentionally went to the special military operation area in order to commit crimes. Such actions on the part of persons arriving in Ukraine to participate in hostilities are illegal and violate, among others, the norms of international humanitarian law. According to the Russian legislation, mercenary activity is a criminal offense.

A. I. Bastrykin instructed the investigators to take exhaustive measures to establish the location of the foreign mercenary and document all the instances of her illegal activities.
