The Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia has initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Paragraph c, Part 2, Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (acts of terrorism) upon the fact of a terrorist act committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Belgorod Oblast.

On April 1, 2022, persons from among the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered into a criminal conspiracy on the territory of Ukraine in order to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Russian Federation. They illegally entered the airspace of the Russian Federation in the territory of Belgorod Oblast using two combat helicopters equipped with heavy offensive weapons and, moving at low altitude, carried out at least four air strikes on the fuel and energy facilities in the city of Belgorod.

 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has instructed investigators, in cooperation with the relevant operational services, to promptly identify all those involved in the terrorist act to hold the perpetrators, who gave and executed the criminal order, accountable as established by law.
