Investigative authorities of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for St. Petersburg initiated a criminal case against a 29-year-old local resident on a possible crime under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a person in public authority).

According to the investigators, on March 6, 2022, during an unauthorized rally in Admiralteysky District of the city, a local resident born in 1992, while actively resisting arrest, struck at least two blows with his hand to a police officer performing official duties to ensure public order and safety.

Currently, all circumstances of the incident are being clarified, the suspect has been detained.

The investigators will give a thorough legal assessment to each instance of an attack or commission of other illegal actions against people in public authority standing guard over law and order.
