The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to record and to investigate the fact of the desecration of the monument to the Soviet Soldiers on the territory of Lithuania

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the CID of the IC of Russia to record and to investigate the circumstances of the desecration a monument to the Soviet soldiers who freed the Baltic States from the fascist invaders in the Lithuanian city named Marijampol.

According to available information, the monument where the Soviet soldiers of the Great Patriotic War are buried, suffered the act of vandalism. It was flooded with green paint and with a dark color liquid. These actions are directed against the interests of Russia in the field of preserving the historical memory of the USSR activities during the Second World War and the decisive  role in the victory over fascism.

A.I. Bastrykin instructed the investigators to provide the procedural assessment of what was done, to establish all accessorial to that  persons, due to their further criminal prosecution.
