Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Officers to Investigate the Shelling of the Holy Assumption Nikolo-Vasilyevsky Monastery in the DPR by the Ukrainian Military

A.I. Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has instructed officers to investigate the targeted shelling by the Ukrainian military of the Holy Assumption Nikolo-Vasilyevsky Monastery in Volnovakhsky Raion of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Reportedly, the people inside the monastery were in danger, as the Ukrainian military did not allow them to leave, shelling the roads. The shelling killed a man and a woman. At the same time, there are 250 refugees in the monastery, including seriously ill people and children. It is also reported that Ukrainian nationalists do not allow humanitarian aid to enter the monastery.

A.I. Bastrykin has instructed the Main Investigative Department to record and investigate all these facts, to identify those involved in the commission of crimes against the civilian population, in order to prosecute them.
