The investigation identifies another Ukrainian commander who gave orders to shell the civilian population of the Donetsk People’s Republic

The Main Investigation Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee identified another Ukrainian serviceman who gave illegal orders to shell the civilian population of the Donetsk People's Republic and civilian infrastructure. This is Colonel Roman Zabrodsky, deputy commander of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The investigation documented a number of new crimes involving both Zabrodsky and other Ukrainian commanders, who were already the defendants in criminal cases, committed on the May 5-6.

According to the investigation, the chief of staff - the first deputy commander of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kachanov and his deputy Roman Zabrodsky gave illegal orders to the battalion commanders and their subordinates - Vitaly Sushchenko, Serhiy Smolik and Igor Sitnitsky to carry out artillery shelling of the Kirovsky and Kievsky districts of Donetsk, and the Yasinovataya city. In addition, Ukrainian commanders Igor Ivanov, Dmitry Gerasimenko, Dmitry Dovbiy are involved in the shelling of other areas of Donetsk. Servicemen of the 25th separate airborne brigade, 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian armed formations carried out massive artillery and mortar shelling of civilian targets in Gorlovka, Dokuchaevsk, Makeevka.

In the same period of time, on the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic, Ukrainian commanders Sergei Postupalsky, Roman Mamavko, Nikolay Yanchy and their accessories t continued to commit crimes against the peace and security of mankind. Their units fired artillery shells at civilian infrastructure in the Pervomaisk and Zolote-5 cities.

As a result of shelling by Ukrainian security forces, 3 civilians were killed, 5 people were injured, 54 houses, gas pipelines and other objects were damaged.

The investigations are launched against all mentioned officials of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in accordance with Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, the use of banned means and methods of warfare).

The investigation identifies all the circumstances of the crime and other persons from among the Ukrainian security forces involved in the shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure.
