Within the criminal investigation of the Ukrainian nationalists crimes committed against the civilian population, the Investigative Committee of Russia will document and thoroughly investigate the information conveyed by the command staff representatives of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to available information, the commanders’s representatives of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (brigade commander Vladimir Baranyuk and chief of staff Dmitry Kormyankov) testified about the war fighting in Mariupol; earlier they were taken prisoner, trying to get out of the Azovmash plant. In particular, according to what they told, they drove Mariupol civilians into basements and used their apartments as combat points.

Investigators will thoroughly examine the disclosed information together with other facts that were announced, and a comprehensive legal assessment will be provided to Ukrainian security forces actions. After the evidence base collection related to the crimes committed against the Donbas civilian population will be finalized, the investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee will forward the criminal cases to the DPR and LPR prosecutor's offices.

Persons involved in the Ukrainian Nazi regime crimson crimes be charged for the massacres of Donbas civilians and will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the republics, where these atrocities were committed. This position fully meets the basic principles criminal procedure law. As a warning to those who continue to commit criminal acts on the territory of Donbas: the Russian investigation and the competent authorities of the DPR and LPR will take comprehensive measures to identify each criminal and bring it to justice. It is worth adding that the already available evidence, including the one, that was mentioned by the Ukrainian military and nationalists who had previously been surrendered, is enough for the two people's republics courts to bring the criminal indictments.
