Russian Investigators to Request and Check Reports From the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the Crimes Committed by Ukrainian Nationalists Against Civilians

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation will request and check – as part of criminal cases – the reports announced by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the crimes committed by Ukrainian nationalists in the settlement of Kharkov Oblast, as well as the cities of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that Ukrainian nationalists had blown up a liquid storage tank with fertilizers (presumably ammonium nitrate) near the village of Dolgenkoye, Kharkov Oblast. The incident produced a cloud of orange smoke. This was done in order to accuse the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Russia of a sabotage attack. Also, the nationalists blocked over 90,000 civilians in residential areas and in the territories of more than ten large industrial enterprises of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, using the civilians as a “human shield”. Any attempts of the civilians to independently evacuate to safe areas – both towards Russia and towards the territories controlled by the Kiev authorities – are severely suppressed by the militants of the nationalist battalions.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation are recording all these facts for the purpose of criminal-legal assessment and prosecution of persons involved in the commission of these crimes.
