The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia holds a brief meeting in Donetsk on the investigations of crimes committed by the Ukrainian regime against the civilian population

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin held an offsite meeting with the headquarters in subjective to the crimes investigations, committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalist formations against the civilian population and Russian military personnel on the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republic territories, including Ukraine. It was attended by Eduard Valerievich Kaburneev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Konstantin Evgenievich Korpusov, the Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia - the head of the Main Military Investigation Department, the Authorities, Investigators and Forensic specialists of a number of units of the central apparatus, including the Main Investigative Directorate, as well as military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Within the meeting, A.I. Bastrykin was informed about the current work results of all units that are involved to the investigation of the crimes committed by the Kyiv regime. Those presented noted that the intensity of shelling was not decreasing. During the day, there are at least 30 shellings, and in May of this year their number was about 200. Since 2014, the number of criminal cases launched by the Russian Investigative Committee on the events in the Donbass and Ukraine amounted to over 870; 77 thousand people have been recognized and interrogated as victims, where almost 12 thousand were children.

At the meeting, the information about the new identified accused criminals was announced. Among them: the head of the command post - deputy chief of staff of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Bugaichuk, the deputy chief of artillery of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Gennady Boyko, the deputy commander of the 3rd battery of the artillery battalion of the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade, Lieutenant Miroslav Verkhovoy, they gave obviously illegal orders to fire the Dokuchaevsk city, the Stepnoe settlement and the Kuibyshevsky rayon of the Donetsk, which caused injuries to civilians and damage to residential buildings. The identity of the criminal who gave orders and directly took part in the mining of 40 km of water area off the coast in Yalta settlement in the DPR and the coastline was odentified - it was a 91st mobile blocking detachment soldier of the AFU (Armed formations of Ukraine) Major Vyacheslav Kharitonenko. His criminal actions led to the fishing boat explosion and the death of 6 civilians. Lieutenant Colonel Aleksey Domashov was prosecuted, he was the head of Pre-trial Detention No. 23 in Poltava where the detained Soldiers of Russian Armed Forces were subjected to humiliation.

A nationalist of battalion "Aidar" Vladimir Chigirovsky is charged in person. Servicemen of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade Sergei Pilipovich and Vasily Shitra from the 23rd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion were also charged with ill-treatment of the civilian persons, they confessed during interrogations. Indictment orders to the military personnel of the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade were issued to the following officers: the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade: the commander of the VFU battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Averyanov, his subordinate senior lieutenant Andrey Zamlinsky, the commander of the mortar battery of military unit A4472, senior lieutenant Maxim Golovana, the commander of the 2nd mortar battery of the 42nd motorized infantry battalion Senior Lieutenant Nur Yunes, serviceman of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the VFU, Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Torshina, Chief of Artillery of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Lavrintsa. All of them are declared as wanted.

The chairman was reported on the investigation of a number of criminal cases finalization. Among them was a criminal case against the 19th separate missile brigade of the military unit A4239 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Fyodor Yaroshevich commander, accused of strikes attacks with the operational-tactical missiles with a cluster munition use in the Rovenki city of the LPR in August 2014 and in the Voroshilovsky rayon of Donetsk, DNR in March this year. 27 civilians were killed, and one child, 42 people were injured of varying severity, including a juvenile. Yaroshevich was declared as wanted. Military investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia have finalized the investigative actions of the case against Ruslan Maistruk, an A3814 military unit serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who mined a bridge on the Prosyanoe-Markovka-Shiroky highway (LPR). The General Prosecutor's Office of the Lugansk People's Republic referred a request on the case being transferred to them for the further trail. The criminal case against Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Shvets, the commander of the tank battalion of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade of the armed formations of Ukraine charges has been prepared for transfer and further consideration on the merits finalization, on the Volnovakha Central District Hospital shelling, despite the fact of the medical personnel and patients were there (part of 1 article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Mr.Shvets is declared as wanted and he is imposed a pre-trail restrain as custody. The criminal investigations have also being finalized against the commander of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade Kokorev, the commander of the 14th separate mechanized brigade Zhakun, the commanders of the 44th separate artillery brigade Baranov and Yushko, the commander of the 28th separate mechanized brigade Marchenko. Based upon their orders the artillery and mortar strikes were carried out on the DPR’s civilians. More than 14 people died, 32 were injured, including children.

Work with the Ukrainian surrendered servicemen continues. Investigators conducted about 4 thousand interrogations of such persons, including more than 200 officers. The Drama Theatre building in Mariupol, that has been destroyed by the nationalists, was inspected, there also were inspected more than 900 of other civilian infrastructure facilities, including damaged residential buildings, dormitories, 4 city hospitals, 2 secondary schools, an industrial building and 47 other civilian infrastructure facilities destroyed by the Ukrainian security forces. A number of documents were confiscated, including medical history-sheets and other materials, which made more than 450 Azov nationalists identification possible.

Work related to the identification of all who is involved in Donbas people extermination continues. In addition, the investigators provide humanitarian assistance and support the local population, including the help to veterans and to juvenile fosters of different institutions.

As part of the working trip, A.I. Bastrykin presented the departmental awards to the investigators, who brilliantly fulfill their duties in investigating the crimes committed by the Ukrainian nationalists, thanking them for their courage and loyalty to the law. Mr. Gusman Ibragimovich Safin from Donetsk, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, was awarded the Departmental Award. From July 1942 to February 1943, a front-line soldier, as part of the Baltic Fleet, has participated in the Leningrad defense and the blockade breaking, he has been seriously wounded. The Head of the Russian Investigative Committee thanked him for his steadfastness, stressing that the valor and courage of people like him don’t allow us to deviate from the principles of justice.
