The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a criminal investigation into an offence prescribed in Part. 3 Article 30, paragraphs. «а», «f», «g» Part 2 Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder of two or more persons, committed in a generally dangerous way, by a group of persons in collusion), on shelling Belgorodskaya oblast territory, committed  by  the Ukrainian Security Forces.

According to the investigation, on May 15, 2022, at about 07:40 a.m., Ukrainian servicemen fired at least one shot, using a multiple launch rocket system at the civilian infrastructure of the mentioned settlement, with the aim of killing an indefinite circle of people: the residents of the Sereda settlement, Shebekinsky rayon, Belgorodskaya oblast. As a result of the shelling, 1 civilian born in 1992 received a shrapnel wound.

Within a criminal investigation, the necessary examinations were appointed; all the circumstances of the crime were being identified, including the persons of the Ukrainian security forces involved in its commission.
