The Investigative Committee launches criminal cases on the shelling of the Russian Federation border zone by Ukraine

The Investigative Committee of Russia has launched the criminal cases on shelling the settlements located in Belgorodskaya and Kurskaya oblasts by Ukraine, the cases are launched into an offence prescribed in paragraphs «f», «g» Part 2 Article 105 Criminal Code of the RF and Part 3 Article 30 paragraphs «а», «f», «g» Part 2 Article 105 Criminal Code of the RF (murder and attempt to murder of two or more persons, committed by common-dangerous mean, in group of persons upon a preliminary collusion).

According to the investigation, between May 25 and 26, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine soldiers, being located on the Ukraine territory, attacked the residential buildings and civilian infrastructure facilities of the Zhuravlevka settlement, Belgorodskaya oblast, by using a multiple launch rocket system. A similar fact was documented on May 26, 2022 in the Vorobzha settlement, Kurskaya oblast. As a result of the shelling, 1 civilian was killed, 1 was wounded by shrapnel, 20 houses and a secondary school were damaged.

The Russian Investigative Committee continues to identify persons and units of the Ukrainian armed Forces, involved in the shelling of civilians.
