The Investigative Committee of Russia launches five criminal cases on the crimes committed by the Ukrainian Security Forces against the civilian population

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federration launched five criminal cases on the offense of the crimes prescribed in Part 1, Article 356 the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of civilian persons, use of banned means and methods of warfare), against Alexander Uralev - the rocket battery commander of the brigade artillery group of the 25th separate parachute brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Armed Forces of Ukraine servicemen, who are already the persons of interest in other criminal cases. These are: servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Evgeny Kurash, Sergey Postupalsky, Roman Mamavko, Nikolay Yanchy, 25th separate paratrooper brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kachanov, Roman Zabrodsky, Andrey Tkachuk, Dmitry Chernichenko, Emil Ishkulov, Vladimir Kapitula, 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Dovbiy, Sergey Sirchenko, Dmitry Gerasimenko, Vyacheslav Bugaychuk, Alexander Bondarenko, Miroslav Verkhovy, Artem Puchkov, Gennady Boyko, 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vyacheslav Vesser, Alexander Zuev, Igor Skibyuk, Pavel Turovchik, Sergey Nesterenko.

According to the investigation, between May 29 and May 31, 2022, the mentioned above servicemen gave and executed the criminal orders for targeted artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure objects in the Donetsk, Gorlovka, Makeevka, Yasinovataya cities and the Yelenovka, Makarovka, Stepnoe, Pavlovka, Mironovsky  settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic, including the Pervomaisk, Stakhanov, Kremennaya, Zolote-5, Svatovo cities and the Krinichnoye settlement of the Luhansk People's Republic.

As a result of the shelling of the Donetsk, Gorlovka, Makeevka, Yasinovataya cities, as well as the Yelenovka, Makarovka, Stepnoe, Mironovsky and Pavlovka settlements of the DPR, two civilians were killed, including a juvenile; 28 people, including 3 juveniles, were injured; 83 residential buildings and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged, including the Orthodox church, a kindergarten and a school.

Attacks on the Pervomaisk, Stakhanov, Kremennaya, Zolote-5 and Svatovo cities, including the Krinichnoye settlement in the LPR, resulted the death of two civilians, wounding 18 people, including 6 juveniles, damaging 53 houses and civilian infrastructure, including buildings schools, kindergartens, libraries and hospice. As a result of the shelling occurred in the Kamyshevakhi urban-type settlement on May 2022, 4 civilians who were injured requested the hospitals of the Lugansk People's Republic for medical assistance. 

On the 11, May 2022, within the criminal investigation, the Investigators of the IC of Russia documented the crimes in accordance with the Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian servicemen of the 56 separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ukrainian security forces, deploying in the Peski settlement of the DPR, attacked the Kirovsky rayon of the Donetsk city from multiple launch rocket systems. As a result of the attack, 6 citizens received shrapnel wounds of varying severity.

In addition, the crimes committed by the command of the 54th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to be documented, thus, on May 13 and May 21, 2022 the senior staff of mentioned above brigade issued the orders to shell the Petrovsky rayon of Donetsk using howitzers. As a result, several shells hit civilian houses, 2 civilians received shrapnel wounds.

In addition, the Investigative Committee of Russia launched one more criminal case in accordance with the Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, against the Ukrainian armed groups, and against the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Officials. According to the investigation, on May 30, 2022, the members of the Ukrainian armed formations, following the criminal orders of the higher commanders and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Officials, carried out targeted artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure facilities in the Budyonnovsky and Voroshilovsky rayons of the Donetsk city, using the large-caliber heavy weapons. As a result of shelling, 5 civilians were killed, including a 14-year-old girl, 16 people were injured, including a child. Moreover, the building of the multidisciplinary lyceum was damaged.

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to investigate the crimes, committed by members of Ukrainian armed groups due to ensure the inevitability of punishment for all criminals, involved in the shelling of civilians.
