Chairman of the IC of Russia Holds an Operational Meeting in St. Petersburg

As part of a working trip to St. Petersburg,  Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, held an operational meeting, which was attended by his deputy Alexander Vladimirovich Klaus; Sergey Vasilyevich Petrov, head of the Educational Work Department of the IC of Russia; Maria Dmitrievna Krasnopeeva, head of the Cultural Center of the IC of Russia; Elena Yurievna Garanina, principal of the Boarding School for Girls of the IC of Russia; and Marina Grigoryevna Parastaeva, acting head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for St. Petersburg.

The head of the IC was updated on the performance of the departments in the current year, as well as on the progress in the investigation of a number of criminal cases by the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for St. Petersburg.

The head of the IC also heard a report delivered by Maria Dmitrievna Krasnopeeva, head of the Cultural Center of the IC of Russia, on the creation of the Student Detachments of the Investigative Committee of Russia and the Cadet Labor Detachments of the Investigative Committee of Russia formed from among students of educational institutions of the Investigative Committee.

Under certain conditions, students and cadets of the IC of Russia in different regions of the country can take part in providing assistance to medical institutions and caring for wounded servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as providing assistance in orphanages and veterans’ homes. Such voluntary work contributes to the education of the younger generation in the spirit of a correct and respectful attitude to labor, true patriotism and kindness.

Elena Yurievna Garanina, principal of the Boarding School for Girls of the IC of Russia, reported to the head of the IC on the organization of the educational process, the creative and educational achievements of the wards. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee noted that the Boarding School is a solid foundation for teaching pupils in the spirit of patriotism, respect for the history and culture of their homeland.

Following the meeting, the head of the IC instructed the heads of educational organizations to carry out organizational activities needed to establish student and cadet teams, whose members can benefit the state and society in those areas where volunteer assistance is most needed.
