The criminal cases are launched on the shelling of the open-air market in Donetsk and the shelling of the infrastructure in a number of settlements of Donbas

The Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a criminal case under the offense prescribed in Part 1 Article. 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, use of banned means and methods of warfare), after another shelling of the Donetsk city of the Donetsk People's Republic by Ukrainian security forces.

According to the investigation, on June 13, 2022, the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out the targeted artillery shelling of civilian infrastructure facilities in the Budyonnovsky rayon of Donetsk with heavy weapons. As a result, the civilians were killed and injured on the territory of the Maisky open-air market. The bodies of the three dead have been identified, they were:  a woman born in 1972, a man born in 1979 and a child born in 2011. Among the wounded there were at least 10 civilians, 9 houses were damaged.

In addition, two more similar criminal cases were launched against the servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Evgeny Kurash, Sergey Postupalsky, Roman Mamavko, Nikolai Yanchey, 25th separate paratrooper brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrey Kachanov, Roman Zabrodsky, Andrey Tkachuk, Dmitry Chernichenko, Emil Ishkulov, Volodymyr Kapitula, 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Zinevich, Mykola Perestupnyak, 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Sirchenko, Dmitry Gerasimenko, Vyacheslav Bugaichuk.

According to the investigation, between June 12 and June 13, 2022, 24hrs long, these servicemen gave and executed criminal orders for targeted artillery attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in the Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Dokuchaevsk, Yenakiyevo cities and the Novodonetske settlemet of the Donetsk People's Republic, including the Kremennaya city and the settlements of Privolye and Krinichnoye of the Lugansk People's Republic. As a result of the attacks, 12 civilians were injured, about 30 houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged, including the building of a kindergarten.

Investigators continue to identify the units of the Ukrainian armed formations and the individuals, involved in crimes against the civilian population.
