The Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia has initiated a criminal case over the shelling of the territory of the city of Belgorod by the Ukrainian military on the grounds of a crime under Paragraphs a, f, g, Part 2, Article 105, Part 3, Article 30, Paragraphs a, f, g, Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder and attempted murder of two or more persons, committed in a generally dangerous way, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

According to the investigators, on July 3, 2022, at about 3:30 a.m., the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at civilian infrastructure facilities in settlements of Belgorod Oblast in order to kill residents of the city of Belgorod.

As a result of the actions of the Ukrainian security forces, 3 people were killed, 2 were missing, including 1 minor, 4 civilians were injured, including 1 minor, 39 houses and 11 residential buildings were damaged, 1 household was completely destroyed.

As part of the criminal case, the necessary examinations have been appointed, all the circumstances of this crime, as well as persons from among the Ukrainian security forces involved in its commission, are being identified.
