The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched criminal cases into an offence prescribed in Part 1 Article 356 of te Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of civilian persons, Use of Banned Means and Methods of Warfare), against servicemen of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of Mr. Yevgeny Kurash, Mr. Sergey Postupalsky, Mr. Roman Mamavko, Mr. Nikolay Yanchey, the 25th separate paratrooper brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of Mr. Andrey Kachanov, Mr. Roman Zabrodsky, Mr. Andriy Tkachuk, Mr. Dmitry Chernichenko, Mr. Emil Ishkulov, Mr. Volodymyr Kapitula, 56th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mr. Sergey Sirchenko, Mr. Dmitry Gerasimenko, Alexander Bondarenko, Mr. Miroslav Verkhovy, Mr. Artem Puchkov, Mr. Gennady Boyko, and 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mr. Alexander Zinevich, Mr. Nikolay Perestupnyak.

According to the investigation, between the July 4 and the July 10, the mentioned above servicemen gave and executed their criminal orders for targeted artillery attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in the Donetsk, Makeevka, Khartsyzsk, Volnovakha, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Snezhnoye, Debaltseve cities, and the Golmovsky , Aleksandrovka, Mironovsky, Gagarina, Nikitovka, Krasny Partizan, Yasinovka, Mineralnoye, Vladimirovka, Lugansk, Blagodatnoe, Panteleymonovka, Ternovoe settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic, including Pervomaisk, Stakhanov, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Svetlogorsk, Lisichansk, Gorskoye, Rubizhnoye, Alchevsk, Zolote -5, Zolote-1, Zolotarevka, Molodezhnoe, Loskutovka of the Lugansk People's Republic. As a result of the shelling in the DPR, 21 civilians, including 4 juveniles, were killed, 107 civilians, including 7 juveniles, were injured, 207 residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged, such as the building of a lyceum, a kindergarten and two schools. During the shelling of the LPR settlements by Ukrainian nationalists, 4 civilians were killed, including a juvenile, 6 people were injured, 52 residential buildings were damaged.

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to identify  the Ukrainian armed formation units and the specific individuals, committed the shelling of civilians, for the prosecution.
