The Investigative Authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Novosibirskaya oblast, launched a criminal case according to the results of the procedural inspection under the offence prescribed in Part 1 Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional public distribution of fraudulent information as reliable, containing data about the use of the Russian Armed Forces in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizenz, and maintain international peace and security).

As it has been preliminary established, on July 15, 2022, Ms. Helga Pirogova, deputy of the Council of Deputies of Novosibirsk, published in social media deliberately fraudulent information, under the guise of a as a reliable message, that contained data on the use of the Russian Armed Forces.

The Investigators are conducting a series of procedures aimed at collecting and consolidating the evidentiary foundation in this criminal case.

The investigation is a subject to control of the Main Investigative Directorate of Russia.
