A criminal case is launched against the shelling of a pre-trial detention center in the Donetsk People's Republic by the Ukrainian nationalists

The Investigative Committee of Russia launched a case against the crime prescribed in Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of banned means and methods of warfare) after the strike on the pre-trial detention center by the Ukrainian nationalists in the Yelenovka settlement, the Donetsk People's Republic.

According to information available, the Ukrainian military used shells from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems to attack the pre-trial detention center where members of the Azov Battalion were being held. As a result, several dozen people died, the accurate number of causalities to be reconfirmed.

Investigators are currently examining the scene. The Russian Investigative Committee will establish all the circumstances of the crime and will identify all the Ukrainian nationalists involved.
