The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee endorses the initiative to create a support program for graduates of orphanages
Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, endorsed the initiative to prepare a program for the adaptation of orphanage graduates.
Ms. Tatyana Alekseevna Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister instructed the relevant ministries to develop a program that implies that orphans will be guided for the next five years after they leave the orphanage or boarding school.
As the Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia noted, this is a timely and very necessary initiative, since graduates of residential institutions face various difficulties: housing, employment, domestic, financial and legal issues, including socialization. He stressed that the state policy in the field of child protection is aimed at solving all the problems faced by orphans, as well as graduates of orphanages and boarding schools. The Head of the Russian Investigative Committee added that at the beginning of their adult journey, these guys are especially vulnerable and easily become victims of fraud and can be criminally impacted, and sometimes they become criminals themselves. In addition, a separate issue should be the topic of obtaining vocational education, since this is a part of the socialization of graduates of orphanages. Also, special attention should be paid to the protection of property rights of graduates of boarding schools.
Within his program, children will be able to receive qualified assistance and advice from specialists in solving various issues. The Investigative Committee of Russia is ready to take part in this program.
