The Investigation Unit for Tverskoy raion of the Investigation Directorate for the Central Administrative Okrug of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow is investigating a criminal case against a 46-year-old native resident of Moscow and a 47-year-old native resident of Leningrad. They are accused of committing a crime prescribed in paragraphs "a, b, c" Part 3, Article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (commercial bribery by prior conspiracy committed by a group of persons, for acts known to be illegal, on a large scale).
According to investigation, between June and July 2022, during numerous personal meetings and telephone conversations, the accused individuals announced their readiness to pay a monetary reward to the top manager of the Russian Information Technology Development Foundation for his accelerated consideration of the applications from two commercial organizations out of turn, which is a breach of procedure for the competitive selection for grants exceeding the amount of 700 million rubles.
The man reported the incident to law enforcement agencies and the criminal activity of the suspects was stopped thanks to the joint work of the investigators from the Moscow Investigative Committee and Officers of the FSB of Russia. The transfer of funds in the amount of 600 thousand rubles took place as part of investigative activities in one of the catering establishments located in 2nd Tverskaya-Yamskaya Street in Moscow, where one of the accused was detained. The second suspect was detained on the territory of the Sochi city.
Investigators have carried out all the necessary investigative activities. The place of residence of the suspects was searched and documents, electronic devices and other objects of interest to investigation were exempted. The accused pleaded guilty during the interrogation.
The court granted the petition of the investigation to impose s pre-trial restrain to the defendants under house arrest. Police enquires are still ongoing in order to establish other episodes of criminal activity of the accused. Criminal investigation continues.
