Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Mr. A.A. Strizhov, Head of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Moscow, to urgently solicit information and to report on the situation related to the violation of the rights of veterans of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and their families.
According to reports, several dozen families of veterans of the internal affairs bodies are being evicted from their apartments in Moscow. Among them there are persons who received a disability during their service. It is said, that the relevant state bodies do not provide any support to the families of the former Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in resolving housing issues.
The Investigative Committee of Russia will examine the above-mentioned facts and, within its competence, IC will take all possible measures to protect the rights of veterans of the internal affairs bodies.
