The Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating the circumstances of the shelling of the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka settlement

The Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating the circumstances of the shelling of the pre-trial detention center by the Ukrainian side in the Yelenovka settlement, the Donetsk People's Republic.

Investigators are conducting a whole range of investigative actions aimed at documenting the traces of the crime committed. Among them are inspections of the scene, interrogations of witnesses and victims. The necessary examinations have been appointed and are being carried out. According to the original results of the expert study, the shelling was carried out using NATO long-range artillery weapons. In particular, the American HIMARS High Mobility Artillery Rocket System was used. The accuracy and grouping of missile hits, as well as other circumstances, confirm that these were pre-planned actions of the Kiev Security Forces in order to eliminate witnesses of the crimes committed against the civilian population. Dozens of people were killed in the attack.

The prisoner members of the Azov battalion who had already been interrogated and gave evidence exposing Ukrainian nationalists in cruel crimes were kept in a pre-trial detention center. These testimonies will form the basis of the accusation and subsequently used as evidence in the court.
