The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee takes part in a meeting on security management in Donbas

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, took part in the meeting in the Lugansk People's Republic. The meeting was held by Mr. D.A. Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, on the instruction of the President of Russia Mr. V.V. Putin. The meeting was attended by the Heads of Federal Ministries and Bodies, as well as the Heads of the Lugansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic.

The agenda of the meeting was priority measures for security management in Donbass. The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of the infrastructure restoring, repairing of hospitals and preparation of schools for the upcoming academic year. Additionally, ways of solving social problems and providing support to the residents of the republics affected by the actions of Ukrainian nationalists were addressed during the meeting. A separate subject of discussion was harmonizing of the legislative norms in the LPR and the DPR with the regulatory legal acts of Russia in order to create legal uniformity in healthcare, education, municipal services and social protection of citizens.

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, while speaking at the meeting, informed everybody about the progress and results of the investigation of crimes committed by the representatives of the Kiev regime against the civilian population of Donbas. The Head of the Body reported on the work accomplished in collecting and documenting evidence and bringing the persons involved to criminal responsibility. Investigators, criminologists and forensic experts of the Russian Investigative Committee are inspecting residential buildings, facilities and other objects of ruined settlements. In order to evaluate the damage caused by the criminal actions of the Military Forces of Ukraine, three thousand complex construction and technical examinations were appointed, some of them have been already finalized. The large-scale work of the department is aimed at obtaining a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused and determining the costs for restoring the facilities. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin also reported on the provision of humanitarian assistance to the residents of Donbas and the military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
