In Stavropolskiy krai, a former judge is charged of grafts

The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Stavropolskiy krai finalized the investigation of the criminal case against the former judge of the Georgievsky District Court of Stavropolskiy krai. He is accused of committing a crime in accordance with paragraph “c”, Part 5, Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (bribe taking on a large scale). The criminal case was launched by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia with the consent of the High Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, in October 2020, the accused received a bribe in the amount of 1 million rubles from a lawyer of a man, who was accused of committing crimes prescribed in Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion), Article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in a criminal community (criminal organization), for imposing a lesser sentence.

After the transfer of funds, the judge was detained by the Federal Security Service Directorate of Russia in Stavropolskiy krai.

The investigator of the Investigative Committee of Russia has collected a sufficient evidence base. The criminal case with the approved indictment was submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.
