The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Lipetskaya oblast launched a criminal case on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 1, Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on causing grievous harm through negligence to the health of a minor child.

According to the investigation, on August 4, 2022, visiting a construction-materials store located the Lev Tolstoy settlement, a 7-year-old boy pulled an exhibition sample of a metal door by the handle, which turned out to be not fixed. The door fell on the child, causing serious injury to his health.

The boy was hospitalized with a comminuted fracture of the femur of the right leg, and he is currently receiving qualified medical care.

In order to identify all the circumstances of the incident, the necessary investigative actions are being carried out. Eyewitnesses are interrogated, as well as the staff of the shopping center responsible for the safety of consumers, and all the technical documentation required for the investigation is seized too. The criminal investigation continues.
