In March 2008, the body of a 49-year-old man was found with a stab wound in the chest in one of the apartments on Kanatchikov prospect in the Krasnoarmeisky raion of the regional center.
On this fact, the investigating authorities immediately launched a criminal case in accordance with Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder), however, at that time it was not possible to identify the person who committed the crime.
This year, a decision was made to conduct additional investigative actions, as well as to appoint forensic examinations, while studying the files of the criminal case by the Officers of the permanent analytical group for resolving crimes of past years.
The involvement of a 46-year-old local resident in the commission of this crime was identified as a result of the well-coordinated work of investigators of the specialized unit for investigating crimes of past, forensic investigators of the regional directorate of the ICR, as well as investigation officers of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was identified that on the night of March 2, 2008, the attacker inflicted at least one stabbed in the chest of his opponent, from which he died on the spot. Thedetails of the crime are identified as following: the mentioned crime happenned in the apartment of a 49-year-old man who was killed, it located on Kanatchikov prospect, Krasnoarmeisky raion of the Volgograd city; the conflict arised while the owner of the dwelling and the attacker were drinking alcohol.
During the additional fingerprint examination, it was revealed that the fingerprints taken during the examination of the crime scene 14 years ago belong to the identified attacker.
Currently, the defendant has been detained, he has been charged with committing a crime prescribed in Part 1, Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - murder. Being interrogated, he confessed to the crime, a verification of his testimony was carried out at the scene with his participation.
The court imposed a pre-trial restraint as custody to the defendant.
Investigators of the ICR continue to identify all the circumstances of the crime committed more than 10 years ago.
