A number of new criminal investigations are launched on the implication of Ukrainian nationalists in crimes against civilian people

The Investigative Committee of Russia launched a number of criminal cases against servicemen of the 30th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mr. Alexander Zinevich, Mr. Nikolai Perestupnyak, the 54th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mr. Alexei Maistrenko, Mr. A. Golenko and 56th separate motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Mr. Sergey Sirchenko, Mr. Dmitry Gerasimenko, Mr. Vyacheslav Bugaichuk, Mr. Alexander Bondarenko, Mr. Miroslav Verkhovy, Mr. Artem Puchkov, Mr. Gennady Boyko and other military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their actions have criminal involvment pursuant to Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, the use of banned means and methods of warfare).

According to the investigation, between August 8 and August 15, 2022, the mentioned above persons gave and executed criminal orders for targeted artillery attacks from heavy weapons on civilian infrastructure in the cities of Donetsk, Gorlovka, Makeevka, Svetlodarsk and Yasinovataya, as well as the settlements of Golmovsky, Urozhaynoye, Aleksandrovka , Makarovka, Vladimirovka and Khorokhovo of the Donetsk People's Republic.

As a result of shelling by Ukrainian armed forces, 13 civilians were killed, 51 civilians were injured, 154 houses and civilian infrastructure were damaged, including the buildings of several kindergartens, schools and a hospital.

Within the criminal investigation, the Russian Investigative Committee continues to identify members of the Ukrainian armed groups involved in the shelling of civilians, for their subsequent prosecution.
