Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin received an appeal with a request to evaluate the actions of Officials engaged in the children's social institution in Kaliningradskaya oblast, where the supposedly the cases of sexual intercourse between underage pupils took place. Based on that, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kaliningradskaya oblast launched a criminal investigation in accordance with Part 1, Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence).

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Mr. D.A. Bocharov, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kaliningradskaya oblast to submit a detailed report on the circumstances of the incident.

The investigation of the criminal case is a subject of control in the Main Investigative Directorate.
