Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Mr. A.A. Zherebtsov, acting Head of the Investigative Directorate for Altaiskiy krai, to submit a report on the investigation of a criminal case on the use of domestic violence, committed by a father against a juvenile son (Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - failure to properly fulfill the duties of raising a minor by a parent).

According to the investigation, on August 14, 2022 in the Barnaul city, a 36-year-old man beat his 11-year-old son and then he attached a chain with a weight to his foot. The boy was transferred to a specialized institution after the child's grandmother filed a complaint to law enforcement agencies. Investigators will have to identify the circumstances of the incident, as well as other facts of illegal acts by the father of the child.

The investigation and the results is a subject to control in the Main Investigative Directorate.
