Mr. A.I. Bastrykin instructs to report on the progress of the criminal investigation on the torture of a minor child in Primorsky krai

The Investigating Authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Primorsky krai are investigating a criminal case against a 33-year-old woman. She is suspected of committing a crime prescribed in paragraph "d" Part 2, Article 117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture).

According to investigators, in December last year, a mother threw a kitchen knife at her 10-year-old son's back, and this summer she beat the child with a wire, hands and feet. The boy experienced mental suffering, as well as bodily harm. The suspect has been detained. In the near future, a measure of restraint will be imposed on her.

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed Mr. V.V. Fomin, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Primorsky krai, to report on the circumstances of the crime. The investigation and its results is a subject to control of the Main Investigative Directorate.
