The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to launch a criminal case in connection with the illegal prosecution of the Head of the Chechen Republic and other persons by Security Service of Ukraine.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigative Directorate to launch a criminal case against the officials of the Security Service of Ukraine in connection with their illegal decisions on the criminal prosecution of Mr.Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic, and other officials.

According to available information, the Security Service of Ukraine made deliberately unlawful decisions to bring charges in absentia against Mr. Ramzan Kadyrov, Head of the Chechen Republic, Mr. Daniil Martynov, Deputy Head of the Department of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic, Mr. Hussein Mezhidov, commander of the tactical group of the 249th separate motorized battalion "South" of the 46th separate operational brigade of North Caucasian okrug of the troops of the national guard of the Russian Federation. It is obvious that the decisions of the SBU on the criminal prosecution of these officials, who are citizens of the Russian Federation, were taken on far-fetched grounds and are contrary to the law.

Within a criminal investigation, the investigation will identify specific SSU officials who made illegal decisions to prosecute Russian citizens.
