Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee conducted an inspection of an apartment building and the adjacent territory in Kuibyshevsky raion of the Donetsk city, as well as a residential neighborhood of Kirovsky raion of the city.
According to the investigation, the commanders of the 68th separate jaeger brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 110th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine gave orders to subordinated military personnel to shell Kuibyshevsky and Kirovsky raions of Donetsk with 155 mm artillery weapons, breaching the requirements of the Geneva Convention relative for the Protection of Civilian Population of 12.08. 1949 and Additional Protocol to it, where it is banned to use weapons if it can cause excessive loss of lives or injuries among civilians.
According to mentioned above, criminal cases were launched against representatives of the Ukrainian armed formations on the offense of a crime prescribed in Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian persons, use of banned means and methods of warefare). The preliminary investigation continues.
