On the morning of August 28, on the Federal highway R-255 "Siberia" near the Kutulik settlement, Alarskiy raion, Irkutskaya oblast, the bus ran-off the road had overturned, resulting in injuries to 7 people, including a 17-year-old teenager, who later requested medical help. As a consequence, the investigating authorities of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Irkutskaya oblast organized an inspection in accordance with Part 1, Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed Mr. D.A. Pozovsky, Acting Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for Irkutskaya oblast to launch a criminal investigation and submit a report.

The investigation of the criminal case is a subject of control in the Main Investigative Directorate.
