This year is rightfully considered the starting point in the formation of the St. Petersburg Institute (branch) of the All-Russian State University of Justice (RLA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia). From the first day of the branch's existence, the main idea of the student learning process has been a combination of deep theoretical knowledge and a wide range of practical skills and abilities taught by professional lawyers. This approach fully met the needs of the regional labor market and was tirelessly implemented through by the management. Mr. A.I. Bastrykin became the first Head of the North-Western branch of the Russian Academy of Law. He organized an effective educational process in the shortest possible time, forming an efficient teaching staff and the foundation for the further scientific activities of the educational institution. Today, the All-Russian State University of Justice (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) and 15 branches of the educational institution in various constituent entities of the Russian Federation successfully implement specialized educational activities, receiving the support of the Ministry of Justice of Russia and providing many graduates with jobs.

Over the past 25 years, about one and a half thousand people have received higher legal education in the branch, and more than 5,500 people have received higher legal education in full-time education. More than six thousand state and municipal officials, the staff of Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and other institutions and organizations upgraded their skills through courses.

Thanks to the support of state authorities and local governments, from September 1, 2022, students of the St. Petersburg branch of the University of Justice (RLA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) will start their lessons in a renovated historic building in Baskovy Lane. The classrooms are equipped with modern devices and technology that meet all the educational requirements and standards.

The Head of the Department stressed that the educational institution is rapidly growing and developing, new relevant specialties and areas of training are emerging. The number of students is steadily increasing from year to year, as well as the number of listeners receiving additional professional education at the branch. All above-mentioned factors build significant prerequisites for the formation of a competent and fundamental legal body which is capable to resist any invasion of the rights of our citizens and the sovereignty of our country.

During the event, departmental awards of the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Justice and the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia were presented to officials and students of the St. Petersburg Institute (branch) of the All-Russian State University of Justice (RLA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia).
